A group of Ukrainian brands have come together to start the #SpendWithUkraine initiative. The objective is to showcase the locally created products and services to the world. On the Spend With Ukraine website, the companies are categorized into eight groups: gadgets, products, education, creativity, lifestyle, fashion, home and services. The list of brands includes Petcube, Ajax Systems, Grammarly, Preply, Depositphotos, Reface, Awesomic and others.
To promote the initiative, the team behind it launched a campaign on ProductHunt and created a promotional video. The initiative was started by Petcube, a startup company. The aim of the platform is to encourage non-Ukrainians to support and purchase Ukrainian products. Andrey Klen, co-founder of a design firm, states that “spending on Ukraine supports the economy and helps build and support the military”. He adds that “while armies may win battles, economies win wars”, and that it is important to turn on the Ukrainian economy by investing in it.
